Warehouse Operations Manager – Logistics & Distribution

Location: Secaucus, NJ (On-site)

Focus:

• Direct daily warehouse activities, including inbound receiving, inventory storage, order preparation, outbound distribution, and returns processing.
• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse personnel while establishing clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability.
• Improve Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionality, inventory controls, and data reliability to support more effective operations.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions that improve workflow efficiency, productivity, and service consistency.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to inventory accuracy, order turnaround, operational quality, and employee productivity.
• Implement preventive measures to minimize product damage, reduce inventory discrepancies, and strengthen handling procedures.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant warehouse environment through consistent training, inspections, and operational oversight.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to coordinate operational priorities, resolve service challenges, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skill Set:

• 5+ years of progressive experience managing warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations, including direct supervision of employees.
• Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including system configuration, process optimization, implementation, or migration.
• Demonstrated success improving underperforming warehouse operations through measurable gains in efficiency, accuracy, productivity, or service quality.
• Proven ability to supervise warehouse employees, establish accountability, address performance concerns, and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including proficiency with spreadsheets, operational reporting, performance metrics, and data-driven decision-making.
• Willingness to remain actively involved in warehouse floor operations while managing broader operational priorities.
• Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead teams through operational changes.
• Experience in specialized logistics, third-party warehousing, inventory-intensive environments, or union workforce management is beneficial. Forklift certification is a plus.
